We are in a time of profound and uncertain change requiring courageous and moral leadership. We need representatives who are not beholden to the narrow and powerful interests that have accelerated unprecedented inequality, community disinvestment and made it much more difficult to live economically stable, healthy, and connected lives.
We are a volunteer-led group of Michigan women from every walk of life who have come together in a coalition to elect Abdul El-Sayed to represent Michiganders in the US Senate. Abdul has a strong record of leadership on behalf of people, not powerful and elite interests. Abdul is about real, meaningful change – not more of the same diluted and compromised leadership that has eroded justice, fairness, and has been complicit in the face of genocide.
Abdul El-Sayed is the only candidate who:
- You can trust to fight for families - because he’s done it time and time again - and not be diverted by the needs of wealthy benefactors because he’s never taken a corporate PAC donation, meaning that he works for everyday citizens and not
billionaires and oligarchs. - Knows how to make government actually deliver services and resources families need – because he has on-the-ground executive experience and has led government agencies to create programs for families, including free eyeglasses for children and eliminating $700 million in medical debt for 300,000 people.
- Has shown that he can clean up unhealthy environments our communities are forced to endure – because he is an environmental justice champion who installed air pollution monitors throughout Wayne County and is proposing policy for community transparency and accountability among corporations and government before data centers are green-lighted.
- Consistently opposes sending U.S. military funds overseas – and calls for redirecting those funds instead for food, education, free daycare, and healthcare here at home.
- Advocates for universal, guaranteed healthcare, authoring the book on Medicare for All, and believes that healthcare is a fundamental human right.
- Courageously calls for abolishing ICE – and has since 2018 - as the only safe path forward, because it does not operate within the bounds of the US Constitution or human decency.
And, critically, Abdul is unwavering in his support for reproductive rights for women and has vowed to reverse the erosion of these fundamental rights.
We invite you to join us standing in the knowledge that together, as women united, we can elect a different type of leader who will represent all of us – not the privileged few – to create the change we need.
